Javed Saifullah Khan
|
|
Mr. Javed Saifullah Khan is the Chairman of the Saif Group of Companies. He has been managing the group business for the past 34 years. He did his M.B.A from the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 1973, and has rich experience in Textiles, Telecommunication, Cement and IT industries. Apart from holding memberships of different government and social organizations, he has remained Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, Central Managing Committee for two years and Chairman, N.W.F.P Textile Mills Association, Central Managing Committee for seven years respectively. He is member IT & Telecommunication Advisory Board, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Member of Task Force on Liberalization & Privatization of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited. He is also the recipient of the prestigious civil award of Sitara-i-Imtiaz conferred on him by the Government of Pakistan.

Iskander N. (Alex) Shalaby

On September 1, 2008 Alex Shalaby was appointed Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) by Board consensus; prior to that he was its President and CEO since 2005.
Alex Shalaby was Chief Officer for Regulatory Affairs at Mobinil from 1998 to 2005 and was responsible for the licensing and regulations required in setting up Mobinil as the first mobile operator in Egypt.Between 1993 and 1995, Shalaby was Regional Director for International Public Affairs for AT&T, based in Cairo, Egypt, where he was the principal interface with key agencies within the governments in the region on matters impacting AT&T's operations.
Shalaby was Managing Director for AT&T in Egypt, and General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region until 1993. In 1966 Shalaby graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alexandria and a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from San Jose State University, USA. |

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is the president & CEO of Mobilink, Pakistan's largest cellular firm. Prior to this, he has held the role of Managing Director & the Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink, the fastest growing cellular operator in Bangladesh. Earlier Mr. Khan was the Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of Mobilink & was the senior member of the management team who played a key role in the robust growth of Mobilink's subscriber base. With a master's degree in Electrical engineering, Mr. Khan has more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications, IT & other technologies in both developed as well as emerging markets. Mr. Khan has also been associated with various international companies including intel's subsidiary, Chips & Technologies & has been awarded patents in the United States of America for his inventions. |

Emad Farid

Mr. Farid joined the Orascom group in 1992 where he held different managerial positions. As of 2000, Mr. Farid joined OTH as the Chief Operation Officer, and was subsequently appointed as the CEO of Syriatel. Mr. Farid is currently the Group Chief Operation Officer at OTH. Moreover, Mr. Farid is a Board member & Chairman of the Board in several OTH subsidiaries. |

Maan El Amine

Mr. Maan El Amine joined OTH in 1999. Prior to his nomination as CEO of M-link Maan contributed to Hutchison stake's acquisition in 2005. Before that he was the CEO of Oasis, OTH subsidiary in DRC, since 2003, where he successfully managed the resurgence of the company and contributed to its divestiture. Since September 2001, he was marketing director of Mobinil, in the business development field within OTH. Prior to that Maan was the CTO and then CEO of SyriaTel trial network, after which the BOT contract was awarded to Syriatel. He contributed to the launch Mobinil in 1998, where he was the engineering manager. Maan started his career in 1994, with France Telecom Mobile Lebanon, in 1996 he was nominated system engineering manager. Maan holds a Maitrise in Electronics and Automation from Rennes I and a DEA from Paris VI Universities in France. |

In addition to directorships of the Board of several Companies in the Sultanate of Oman since 1996, she is the Chairperson of Oman International Bank SAOG, Chairperson of Muscat National Holding Co. SAOG, Chairperson of Muscat Insurance Co. SAOC, and Deputy Chairperson of Oman Agriculture Development Co. SAOG. |

Khan holds Masters Degree in Information & Telecommunications System from Johns Hopkins University USA, an MBA from Columbia University USA & Bachelors of Science in Applied Economics & Business Management from Cornell University, USA. His areas of expertise include Global & regional business issues, priorities of capital & financial flows with a special focus on the telecommunications and Power Generation sectors. In addition he is responsible for the strategic planning and business development operations of the Saif Group. He also assists the Chairman and Co-Chairman in the Group's operations, project management and planning. |
